Early Fall 2010

I called this "as I fell." It was done for the Grimm Fairy Tales show at my school. It's about chest height and covered in thick bartop varnish. Acrylic paint is underneath.

From top to bottom: plaster mold, handmade paper cast, cement cast, rubber cast, and wax cast. 

I have an affinity for sharp things, not because they are dangerous though. I think there's something really interesting about the way a knife or sharp object looks. Knives/sharp objects are no-nonsense, generally they get things done. They are direct, honest. I find comfort in that.
